I’ll make this short because if I don’t, the book will never move.
Work–strenuous.
Dinner–delicious gourmet hotdogs.
Chores–husband is conspicuously missing.
Grading–ugh.
Exercise animals–rabbit hops in blissfully ignorant joy.
Exercise self–dance like crazy behind closed doors.
Shower.
Book–finally!
Writers, how does your average day stack up?
Michelle Joyce Bond
I’m finally in a good place wrt to a writing schedule. I’ll be blogging on this soon, so I won’t eat up space here, but I’m happy that things are even-keeled for me now.
Keep at it.
Daniel
It’s a really good feeling when you find that balance. 🙂
Average days for me Michelle, stack up to be like temper traps, and are relatable to the lyrics of The Temper Trap’s song “Rabbit Hole” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZJdYNJ1CDg
“Rabbit Hole”
by The Temper Trap
I don’t wanna be the only one ’round here
Everything I’m saying’s falling on deaf ears
Come to get you if you make another sound
Make you an example since you call it home
Anyone who listens is gonna get theirs when the water floods down
Into the rabbit hole
Hands up if you think you’re gonna save us now
Before we shoot the messenger for talking too loud
We’ll keep you on the run
We get what we want
Every which way you go they’re gonna hunt you down
Making you believe a lot of sticks and bricks can get you stoned
Cause anyone who listens is gonna get theirs when the water floods down
Into the rabbit hole
You think we gone around
You think we gone around no one
Just feeding the flame
Arresting the fight
And it’s a cold day in hell
It’ll be a cold day in hell
Growing up
Just feeding the flame
Arresting the fight
With fire, with fire
In the rabbit hole
I love the lyrical response! So much more can be conveyed through poetry than can be told in prose. 🙂
Wake up. Math. Physics. Lunch. Essay writing. Dinner. Writing. Book. Bed.
Ah, I see you got a book in there! I’m majorly jealous. 🙂
I write when I have an idea burning in my head that I need to get out on paper before my brain catches fire. The more things go wrong at school with my teaching job, a given when teaching in a public school, the more I have burning ideas in my head. There are enough flammable coals up there as it is, that I write something every day.
I love the metaphor and have quite enough coals to stoke the creative fires from my own teaching job. 🙂 Writing does wonders to ease the tension!
My day usually stacks up similar to yours. Substitute exercise for errands though. I am always running around doing something. There just isn’t enough time in the day to get everything I want done, done.
